Mario Moreno “Cantinflas” was remembered in his twentieth anniversary
Last weekend was held in Mexico City Cathedral a commemorate Mass for the twentieth anniversary of the death of Mexican actor Mario Moreno “Cantinflas.”
About 200 people participated in this remembrance to honor the great humorist.
During the ceremony, his son (adoptive), Mario Moreno Ivanova, announced the creation of a museum and the filming of a movie in honor of the artist. “It’s been 20 long years, because a lot has happened, from unpleasant litigations to well-deserved tributes,” said Moreno Ivanova, in an interview with AFP.
Moreno, who died in Mexico City in 1993, at age 81 of lung cancer, not only created the character Cantinflas, he also built an economic empire thanks to the earnings of more than 50 films. Since the death of Moreno, his family is in a long dispute over the inheritance and the rights of exploitation of his films.
