Ecuadorian fighter Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera returned to the country to talk about his future in the UFC. Petr Yan would be injured and Cory Sandhagen would enter the radar.

Ecuadorian fighter Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera at the press conference on May 2, 2024, in Guayaquil.
Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera returned to Ecuador to present his new venture, Chito’s Pulse, and also give details about his future in the industry on the way to a new opportunity for the world championship in the bantamweight division.
“Winning my next fight is essential, if you ask me about time, I would think it would take me a year or a year and a half,” said the ‘tricolor’ athlete.
However, he also revealed that the UFC informed him that Petr Yan was injured and would not be able to fight in November, despite everything the Russian previously stated on social networks.
Given this, another name that comes to the fore is Cory Sandhagen for a possible rematch, because the American has already defeated the Ecuadorian.
“I would love that fight, and since it is higher in the division ranking it would be more convincing.”
Vera made it clear that Sandhagen would be the option in the face of Yan’s injury and that Dana White himself, president of the UFC, would view the fight favorably. But only time will tell.
