Massive Protests in Greece

Greek workers fulfilled the first of two strikes against the court adjustments decided by the Government. During the demonstrations in central Athens two young men were injured as well as two police officers in a clash against the 30,000 protestors.
Antiriot policemen detained 12 youngsters during the incidents in central plaza Syntagma in front of the Parliament fought with the police. The European Union flag was burned and stones were thrown against the officers. Several young men tried to enter the Ministry of Economy damaging several offices in the process.
Meanwhile the European manager of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Antonio Borges, pointed out that it is not urgent that Greece receives money since it does not need it. (AV)
