Mery Zamora asked that her sentence be notified
The former President of the National Union of Educators (UNE) and militant of the Movimiento Popular Democrático (MPD), who was declared guilty last May 13 of the current year for the crime of sabotage and terrorism, yesterday attended to the 10th Court criminal Guayas to ask for the judgement issued against her to be notified in writing.
Pedro Granja, defense attorney of Mery Zamora, who was accused of having incited to protest the students of the Aguirre Abad school on September 30 of 2010, says it is unknown how many years will receive Zamora and that is why they still cannot appeal.
“Article 306 of the code of criminal procedure says that judges must notify its ruling within the maximum period of three days. It’s obvious that the sentence against Mery Zamora hasn’t been written down and this can only be justified by the absence of arguments for sentencing her”, said the lawyer.
