Ecuadorian documentary ‘Mi Corazon en Yambo’, directed by Maria Fernanda Restrepo, received the audience award at the 14th edition of the Filmar en America Latina festival held in Switzerland.
With this award, the film becomes one of the most recognized productions in Ecuadorian film history.
‘Mi Corazon en Yambo’, released in October 2011, tells the story of María Fernanda Restrepo who investigates the disappearance of his two brothers in 1988.
Besides this award, the film has competed in various festivals around the world, including: International Documentary Festival in Taiwan: Best Documentary; Opendoek Festival in Turnhout, Belgium: Dirk Vandersypen prize; Award DocBsAs Canal Arte France, Screenplay Vision Sudest; Edoc2011 in Ecuador.
