National Government is awaiting the results of the Citizen Consultation
Through a press release issued by the Communication Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic, the National Government indicated that it is awaiting the results of the Citizen Consultation, which have not yet been delivered by the National Electoral Council (CNE).

President Lasso expressed his concern about the delay in the vote count of the Citizen Consultation.
At this time, the CNE has scrutinized just over half of the 40,774 minutes of the consultation, which raised eight questions related to security, governance and environmental issues.
The National Government expressed its concern about delays in some provinces such as Guayas -the most populated in the country- where until 2:50 p.m. on Monday, February 6, only 0.42% of 9,291 records had been processed. “In addition to being inexplicable, this situation generates uncertainty and confusion among citizens,” said SEGCOM.
The Government will not rule on the electoral results until the CNE finishes counting the votes and indicated that it will respect the will of Ecuadorian citizens at the polls.
