Around 1300 young people, educated in the schools of police training, prepare to join the new police personnel that operate in the provinces of Pichincha, Guayas and Manabi.
“They carry out patrols as part of their apprenticeships since graduating in the coming months,” said an official in charge of the operation to provide security at points adjacent to Carondelet.
Currently, the Personnel Division of the National Police recorded 42 005 gendarmes in the country, according to data from 2012. The goal is to reach 57 000 to 2017 and thus reduce the workload of 12-8 hours daily and strengthen security.
According to the website of the company, currently has 10 police generals, 96 colonels, 222 lieutenant colonels, the rest is distributed among middle officers and troops. Only 2653 soldiers have degrees of third and fourth level. Of these, 1399 are official and 1254 belong to the troop.
