National Report was given in Ecuador by the Head of State
Today at 09:30 some delegates and guests were in the National Assembly plenary session to hear the report to the Nation by President Rafael Correa.
On his report Correa highlighted that the rates of extreme poverty in the country are less than 10%. “Today a basket of food costs 586 while the per capita income per person is in 4126. This exceeds by more than 3 times the poverty line,” he said.
The president of Ecuador, Rafael Correa, defended the exploitation of oil and minerals to fight poverty in his country, which along with poverty hits 34.7% of the 14.5 million Ecuadorians, mostly indigenous, which in some cases oppose the project.

Ecuador’s government today rejected any foreign military intervention in Syria and called for the cessation of violence, as well as an impetus for dialogue to seek peaceful solutions to conflict in the Middle East nation.
So said Ecuadorian Foreign Minister, Ricardo Patino, speaking in the report on the state of the nation.

“I haven’t said a word yet,” said Vice President Lenin Moreno, on receiving the applause of the guests before the begining of his report to the nation, in the House of Assembly.
He started waving to President Rafael Correa. “Comrade, dear friend, leader of the revolution Rafael. This is the last time I stand here as Vice President my friend.” And the crowd shouted, “Correa and Lenin together til the end.”
In his report, inter alia, he mentioned that the Manuela Espejo Mission reached 306 220 handicap people trough his period in the vice presidency office. (FL)
