NATO Warns of Immediate Reaction if Syria Uses Chemical Weapons
Yesterday the Syrian regime threatened to bring hell on earth through the use of chemical weapons. Today, Tuesday November 4, the general secretary of NATO, Anders Fogh Rasmussen, pointed out that if the conflictive country uses such weapons it will cause an “immediate international reaction.”
This Tuesday an American official confirmed that Damascus is already mixing the necessary components to use gas sarin, which first causes a complete paralysis of the body and afterwards death. Meanwhile the United States president, Barack Obama, openly threatened his Syrian counterpart, Bashar al-Assad.
“Using chemical weapons is, and would be totally unacceptable,” said Obama during a speech in Washington, United States. Rasmussen added that he awaits a favourable response from the Ministers of Turkey to deploy patriot missiles near their border with Syria. The NATO secretary assured that such action would be “totally defensive and not in any way a means of promoting an air exclusion zone or an offensive operation.”
