Nelson Mandela has been hospitalized for two months

Posted On 07 Aug 2013

Former South African president, Nelson Mandela, yesterday met two months hospitalized at the Medi-Clinic Heart Hospital of Pretoria, after a strong relapse in his health due to a lung infection.

The medical condition of Mandela, who spent his 95th birthday, July 18,  in the hospital, is still critical, despite the improvements of the last days. Mandela’s prognosis went from “serious but stable” to “critical” on last June 23.

Citizens from all over the world have become both physically and spiritually present, leaving messages of love and support outside the hospital, as well as prayer campaigns carried out around the world.

The icon of the struggle against the racist regime of “apartheid”, received a notification of overdue debts of basic services, prompting an apology from the authorities by the error in issuing the notification, which has been criticized in and outside South Africa.
