Neo Sculptures, art with ashes from cremation
Today, the cremation of people when they die, has become an increasingly common practice, an as a result of obtaining “manageable” remains of a loved one, the using of these to create multiple objects is now a growing fashion, in order to pass the “essence of the deceased” to the object as a different way to be mindful with those who are gone.
One of these trends is the creation of Neo Sculptures.

The Colombian sculptor Oscar Julian with some of his artistic creations made of ashes.
The sculptures, made by Colombian sculptor Oscar Julian, were presented at the last edition of the Funermostra, an appointment in Valencia (Spain), which meets the new proposals of the funeral industry.
The idea of making the Neo Sculptures consists in transforming ashes into an authentic work of art, which replaces the conventional urns commonly used for the ashes’ storage. (MZ)
