Leila Cobo, executive director of Billboard Latino Content published a biography of the late singer Jenny Rivera in which recounts the hard times and the happy moments of the “The great lady” of the Regional Mexican genre.

In the biography titled “Jenni Rivera: la increíble vida de una mariposa guerrera” (Jenni Rivera: the incredible life of a butterfly warrior), Cobo says “Jenny Rivera was not going to be a singer. Never dreamed, never imagined, never looked for it and for a long time she doesn’t even want it”.

At the time of her death, in December 9 in a plane crash in Mexico, Rivera, considered the “the Diva of the Banda” was at the height of her career: She was the best selling singer in her genre and the only Latin artist with her own radio and television programs, makeup and clothing line, and a charitable foundation.

Cobo tells, from beginning to end, the story of Rivera with the affection of someone who knew her and had access to many data through interviews and reports throughout her career.
