New port and ZEDE will be located in Posorja

Paola Carvajal, head of the Ministry of Transport and Public Works (MTOP) announced that the new deepwater port of the country will be located in the Posorja parish, in western Guayaquil.
In addition, Carvajal noted that there will also be a special development zone (ZEDE) and shipyards.
“We have signed a memorandum of understanding with the company called DP World, which has already delivered the studies, and we analyze them in order to define the appropriate model,” the authority said yesterday during an interview with Ecuavisa.
