New regulations for the hiring of construction workers

The construction industry must agree with the regulations  for the recruitment of workers, announced yesterday, Francisco Vacas, holder of the portfolio of Labor Relations. The document will be issued through a ministerial agreement, the first week of March for its publication in the Official Gazette. The construction sector will have 180 days to apply the regulations.

The Ministry, in coordination with the Chamber of construction, will disseminate and train national employers and workers on the mechanism and modalities for the implementation. It will also expose on its website modalities of contracts of employment that employers and promoters of the construction may use, adapting them to their particularities.
The regulation will establish a registration system online, in the Ministry of labor relations (MRL), of workers and employers of the construction sector, as well as projects. There will also be an interim period of duration of the work that will allow the checking of the validity of employment contracts.
Another aspect that must be regulated  is that the sector continue paying the extra salaries in advance, either weekly or monthly, but must be included in the payments rolls that employers must provide.
Also, it will be required that the salaries are credited to bank accounts, not only to guarantee the payment to the  workers, according to the Minister, but also to verify payments. The copy of the transfer will be delivered to the Ministry.
