OAS, ALBA and UNASUR will Meet to Discuss Tension Between Ecuador and UK
OAS Permanent Council will meet in special session today to discuss “the situation between Ecuador and the United Kingdom” after the Latin American country said it would grant asylum to Wikileaks’ founder, Julian Assange.
Permanent Representative to the Organization of American States (OAS) will gather in the agency’s headquarters at 16:30 Washington time (20:30 GMT), according to the institution in a statement.
Foreign ministers of the Bolivarian Alternative for Our Americas (ALBA) and the Union of South American Nations (UNASUR) will meet this weekend in Guayaquil to discuss the situation triggered by the case of Julian Assange, today confirmed an Ecuadorian Ministry source Foreign Affairs.
The source told Efe that Alba foreign ministers will meet on Saturday and UNASUR on Sunday. (FL)
