Opera Katiuska comes to Guayaquil Tonight
Beatriz Parra Foundation will presents tonight (at 7:30pm) in Teatro Centro de Arte of Guayaquil an adaptation of the opera Katiuska.
This work will be stared by the Costa Rican baritone, Fitzgerald Ramos, remembered for his role in the musical “Sweeney Todd” in Quito, accompanied by 80 artists. Tonight’s show will include the presence of the national tenor Jorge Cassis, in the role of the prince and young promising opera singers form Maria Callas Conservatory will debut in the supporting roles. For the premiere of this work, the Youth Philharmonic Orchestra will accompany them.
The operetta by the Spanish composer Pablo Sorozábal (1897-1988), tells the story of Princess Katiuska (played by Yasmine Yaselga soprano of Guayaquil), an aristocrat lady willing to leave her life as royalty by the forbidden love of Peter Stakoff (Fitzgerald Ramos). The story develops at the time of the Russian revolution (1917).
