Pegasus Satellite broadcasts signals
The launch of the first Ecuadorian satellite, Pegasus was a success and it began signaling. A German amateur radio was the first to report the sounds emitted by the satellite, launched from China, said yesterday Ronnie Nader, director of the Ecuadorian Civilian Space Agency (EXA).
The fact puts Ecuador in the list of nations with a satellite launched on space; a cube of 10 by 10 inches and a weight of 1.2 kg which was launched at 23:13 last Thursday.
“Already an amateur radio in Germany caught it briefly (…) and linked us online,” said Nader, indicating that the first thing he heard were a few notes of the Ecuadorian National Anthem and transmission part was in several codes, including the morse, which is a proof that the satellite “is stabilized, as if it was moving would not have been able to capture any signal.”
