“Pep” Guardiola is Bayern Munich’s new Coach
German soccer club Bayern Munich announced that Spanish Josep Guardiola will be the new coach from next season, 2013-2014, which will begin in May. After a meeting of its leaders, the club announced a three-year pact.
Known as “Pep”, Guardiola has won fourteen titles with the FC Barcelona and was the one who turned the Spanish club in the world’s best.
The German club’s current coach, Jupp Heynckes (who won the Champions League with Real Madrid in 1998), previously announced he would retire when his contract expires at the end of the campaign.
“We are very pleased that we have succeeded, he is a soccer expert, Pep Guardiola, who was courted by many famous clubs, and is here to win with FC Bayern,” CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge noted. “Pep Guardiola is one of the most successful Coaches in the world and we are sure that he can bring much sparkle not just to Bayern but also German soccer (…) We look forward to continue the work from July 2013.”
