Peruvian cuisine celebrates in style after being nominated for the second consecutive year as the “Best culinary destination in the world ” according to the ranking of the World Travel Awards ( WTA ) .
Bernardo Roca Rey, President of the Peruvian Society of Gastronomy ( Apega ) ensures that this appointment will help to strengthen the country’s tourism development , and contribute to national identity and promote social inclusion and partnership between chefs and farmers.
“It puts a mark of high class , high excellence … We’ve done it twice ,” said Roca Rey .
The award from the WTA , is considered one of the most prestigious in the world tourism industry.
The award was received by the Dubai Economic Trade Adviser , Alvaro Silva- Santisteban . Peru emphasized that ” in less than ten years ” has gone ” to have a valued by all Peruvians to be a culinary trend globally recognized kitchen .”
