Peruvian President will Visit Ecuador in Upcoming Weeks
Foreign Minister Jose Antonio Garcia Belaunde today announced the visit of Peruvian President Alan Garcia to Ecuador in the coming weeks, to consolidate the “intense” relations linking the two countries.
This announcement comes a day after both countries exchanged diplomatic notes which set the maritime boundary in common.
Garcia said: “Five years of an intense relationship that deepens the understanding between the two countries, and it will continue. Even in the upcoming weeks, we have yet an official visit of President Alan Garcia to Ecuador. ”
According to Peru, the establishment of maritime boundaries is important not only for bilateral relations, but also forces its position in the International Court of Justice in The Hague in the maritime dispute with Chile that Peru maintains with their respective maritime boundaries.
