Pharmaceutical industry will reduce its purchases abroad

The Association of Pharmaceutical Laboratories of Ecuador submitted its proposal to the government to participate in the process of changing the production model reducing the number of imports and replace them with national product.

The commitment of the pharmaceutical industry is to reduce imports by $ 140 million dollars a year.

The project’s goal, according to a release is to “provide quality medicine at affordable prices for all ecuadorians”.

With this measure, the industry expects saving over $ 300 million dollars a year to the state.

In addition, according to this project, it is expected the creation of a research fund for the Ecuadorian pharmaceutical industry, which will provide about $ 30 million per year for the study of new farmaceutic forms .
