Pope Francis refers to the ethic aspect of judges
Posted On 17 Jun 2014
Pope Francis said today that judges should have prudence as main characteristic to avoid “personal visions” or “ideological beliefs”.
Those were his words today when receiving High Council members of the Italian Magistracy in audience at the Vatican.
In his speech, the pope referred to the “ethical dimension” of the work of magistrates.
He added that the magistrates are “in a prominent place, to adequately answer the charge that society has entrusted to them and to maintain impartiality and to discern with objectivity and wisdom”.
Francis invited the Italian magistrates to strive to “be an example of moral integrity for the whole society”.
