Pope Francisco makes monetary donation to those affected in Mexico
The Argentine Pope made a donation of $ 100,000 to the victims of the cyclones Ingrid and Manuel, which affected the entire coast of Mexico. The Pontifical Council Cor Unum were responsible for sending the funds, which will be distributed by the Diocese of the different affected areas.
According to what was stated by the Mexican bishops conference, through a statement, the Pope is “deeply concerned about the dramatic consequences of the passage of Ingrid and Manuel” and expressed his “consolation and solidarity to Mexico”.
The Bishops highlighted the work of the Catholic institution from the beginning, supporting the emergency in evictions, rescue and cleanup tasks, establishment of shelters and collection centers.
“They have collected and distributed tirelessly and permanently several tons of food, water, medicine, clothing and basic necessities through cathedrals, parishes and seminaries,” they said.
