“Pots and Pans” against mayor Barrera did not work
Yesterday, around 17:00, a group of citizens gathered at the corner of Queen Victoria and Calama streets, to participate in the “Pots and Pans“, in order to show their disagreement with the administration of Mayor of Quito, Augusto Barrera.
“We have convened an obsession by the ineptitude of Mayor of Quito,” said Gabriel Garces Jaramillo, who was one of the first to arrive at the event. In total, nearly one hundred people attended.
During the rally, a letter to Barrera was distributed. The letter began with a list of complaints: intense traffic congestion, lack of planning in the works, violence and lack of control, and and corruption in the peak and plate system.
However, the letter could not be delivered since several members of the National and Metropolitan Police prevented the passage of Protestants.
Around 19:00, the protesters decided to disperse instead. (MZ)
