Quito Councillor demands Antonio Ricaurte for alleged moral damage

Carla Cevallos, councillor for the SUME-Vive party, filed a complaint Tuesday against her colleague Antonio Ricaurte, for alleged moral damage. She said he was a victim of sexism and gender violence.
In one video, Ricaurte is seen reading a message in which “he arbitrarily refers to me with epithets as whore, implying that somehow I would have harassed and seduced him …”
Cevallos’s lawyer, Luis Muñoz, said they are also asking for protective measures for the official, such as not sharing similar spaces.
Ricaurte told El Comercio that the video was personal and “it was filtered and misused.”
