Rafael Correa did not show up for diligence in the case of Ramiro Cueva
Ecuadornews:
The ex-president Rafael Correa did not appear last Friday to the judicial proceeding for the complaint he filed against the journalist Ramiro Cueva, director of the Ecotel chain of Loja, in the courts of Belgium. It was the second time this happened.
Correa accused Cueva of alleged assaults almost two months ago when the second was in that country to make a report, he said.
In a video released by Ecotel, Cueva says that the exhibitions of his lawyers, of Belgian nationality, showed that there were no attacks on his part towards Correa. “It is clear that in this case Mr. Cueva is the victim,” they said.
The journalist reported that a group of supporters of the former presdidentwere waiting outside the Court of Nouvelle, so they had to move to their vehicles escorted by police. (I)
