Reactions of those who accused Pedro Delgado: Clever Jimenez

As a “setback for President Correa who publicly protected, honored and covered up for him”, qualified Assembly member Cléver Jimenez, the resignation of Pedro Delgado to the direction of the Central Bank of Ecuador.

Jimenez asserted that the decision does not relieve Delgado of criminal and civil liability, so he requires the prosecution to take the necessary precautionary measures, to prevent Delgado to evade the Ecuadorian courts.

The legislator has been investigating Delgado’s performance for three months, and, even, hours before his resignation, he made a call for Delgado to be prosecuted for several crimes, including forgery.

He also stated that for this reason, all actions of Delgado in the National Financial Corporation, Superintendency of Banks  and Central Bank of Ecuador, would be null and void.
