Posted On 20 Sep 2012
The National Secretariat of Risk Management (SNGR for its Spanish acronym) clarified that the Chilla canton, located in El Oro province, is not on red alert, as reported in social networks and media.
The organism reported that the nine provinces that suffer the impact of forest fires, remain on orange alert.
As a preventive measure, the Emerging Operations Committee (COE for its Spanish acronym) established an active-service command post at Pueblo Viejo (Chilla), in which, efforts to control the flames, are being coordinated. (MZ)
