Regulatory Council will begin its work with the advertising industry
After the referee board was fully integrated last Monday, the first meeting is already expected.
The five delegates have their first task pending, whose term expires this Friday which is to see if the producers and media comply with the standards set in the Act Communication regarding the production and dissemination of advertising in the country.
This expectation is consistent with the transitional law 13, “(…) Once enacted, the Communications Act establishes that within 30 days the media producers must meet the standards established for the production and dissemination of advertisements in the territory Ecuador.”
The Regulatory Council president, Patricio Barriga, already began the request with the Ministry of Finance so that the relevant resources be transferred relevant and thus initiate their work.
Section V of the Communications Act covers all details of advertising and details of who does what work. While Article VI highlights that national advertising production, must be produced by Ecuadorians and its payroll must include an 80% of national staff. It also prohibits the import of advertising materials produced outside the country.
