Resolution 116 will be analyzed by trade Ministers of Ecuador and Colombia
Trade Ministers of Ecuador, Francisco Rivadeneira, and Colombia Santiago Rojas, will analyze today in Quito the trade balance, as well as resolution 116 of the Committee of Foreign Trade (Comex).
Rivadeneira said that the appointment is to seek solutions to the differences that may exist with Colombia.
The implementation of resolution 116 (which established more regulation on imports) caused problems for Colombian entrepreneurs because they could not get in some technical topics the standard certification of products issued by some laboratories, according to Ricardo Lozano, Colombia’s Ambassador in Ecuador.
He also mentioned that in sectors such as tile, there are still problems that are being overcome, but there are others that must be analyzed, such as the application of a special certification.
