The former drum player of The Beatles, Ringo Starr, is preparing to launch in October, his first children’s book, whose plot is based on one of the songs of the English band, Octopus Garden.

The history of this song, written by Starr, 72, for the album “Abbey Road” in 1969, originated after having spent time on the yacht of actor Peter Sellers in Sardinia (Italy) and talk to the captain about marine species.

Starr has collaborated with illustrator Ben Cort for this new literary project, as revealed by the publisher “Simon & Schuster UK”.

“I am very pleased to collaborate with Ben Cort and Simon & Schuster for The New Adventures of Octopus’s Garden” said the musician.

The book will be published this fall in hardback cover and on CD, and will also include a song from the musician.
