Several events due to Quito’s 479 founding

Ecuador’s capital celebrates its founding festivities with its own traditional style: serenades, live music, folk dances and parades.

Throughout this week, will be performed the Interbarrial theater, art exhibitions, concerts and traditional games. Tomorrow will take place the Wood cars competition in the south of the city and the 40 championship (traditional game with cards).

This Thursday will be final of the “town bands” competition, and on Friday 6th will be held the solemn session in the Sucre Theater, at 11:00. The festivities during this day will conclude on the Amazonas Avenue, with the traditional parade of lights and color, from 19:00, in which there will be fireworks.

The official closing of the celebrations will be on Sunday, with an arts festival from 10:00 in the historic center, in the square in front of the church San Francisco.
