South Korea speeds up the construction of an air defense system
Yesterday, South Korea promised to accelerate the construction of an integrated air and missile defense to ensure their ability to repel and counter the “threat” of North Korea, a nation that made a new nuclear test last Tuesday.
The South Korean Defense Ministry stated through the local agency Yonhap that the South Korean Navy has developed a cruise-shore missile ship with a range of 500 to 1,000 km in their ships and announced it will complete its deployment in the next two years to put in his sights the nuclear arsenals of missiles of its northern neighbour.
For its part, the United States has some 28.500 troops in South Korea to protect its ally against a possible North Korean attack, because technically both parts of this country are still in confrontations since the Korean War (1950-1953).
