Spain regards Ecuador as a market that presents a real business opportunity for its companies but at the same time that will allow investors to solve the challenges in terms of sustainable development and social inclusion of local communities. This idea is based on the pilot plan presented by ICEX España Exportación e Inversiones. The new program called ICEX IMPACT +, which will also be launched in Colombia, seeks to support the entry of Spanish companies with profitable business models based on the concept of sustainability into new destinations. This also allows the specific needs of population segments in these countries considered as emerging and with high growth potential.
“ProEcuador will be in charge of technically identifying the best counterpart companies,” explains José Luis Cabascango, head of the commercial office of the company in Madrid. The official values the initiative positively because it is a way to “generate a positive impact on local communities.”
ICEX IMPACT + is part of the Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development adopted by the UN and incorporates the private sector as one more actor to contribute to the achievement of its objectives. (I)
