Posted On 17 Aug 2019

The Economic Commission of the University of Guayaquil allocated $ 3 million as a budget for the 5.41% increase in the salary of teachers in 2013, with retroactive to January this year.

The amount was agreed on Monday which also decided to apply the rules of ladder from the last quarter of 2013. The announcement comes after claims that teachers made in recent weeks.

Joseph Alban, professor at the Faculty of Philosophy, said the decision has not yet been approved by the University Council and indicated that the increase does not satisfy the request, as expected an increase of at least 10%, considering the last two years.

The Commission also allocated $ 2.5 million for repayment of principle of free items for the students who applied. Days before, dozens of students protested that the returns were not being produced quickly.
