Storms continue to cause damage in Ecuador

BAGATELA, Los Rios

Following a request made by six mayors from the province of Esmeraldas to the Governor and President of the Provincial Committee of Emerging Operations , Rafael Lemos, this body yesterday declared this province in emergency, due to the havoc caused by  the intense winter.

Contrary to the case of Esmeraldas, In Loja, the COE of Zapotillo activated the emergency by the lack of rain in six urban and rural parish of the canton border with Peru.

On the other hand, in Vinces, the sector of Bagatela, in the Antonio Sotomayor parish , more than 30 patients a day come to a billiard,  improvised to provide medical care, located at Bagatela, with gastric, and breathing problems to receive attention by physicians of the subcenter of the town. The drugs are placed on the pool tables, and then deliver  to those who come with fever, stomach aches and diarrhea.

Likewise, today in the province of Manabi, the National Secretariat of risk management (SNGR) will install tents to assist 89 families who must evacuate their homes from the Citadel Briones, San Pablo de Portoviejo parish, since their homes are in an area of imminent danger, which has caused some cracks by geological faults.
