The Ballon d’Or was received by Ronaldo after 5 years

Five years after his first Ballon d’Or, achieved after winning the Champions League with the Manchester United in 2008, Cristiano Ronaldo  recovered yesterday the trophy without winning a title in 2013.

While his highest competitor, Lionel Messi received the trophy for four consecutive years; the Portuguese never stopped believing he would return to win the Ballon d’Or.

As he received the trophy at the hands of Pelé and embraced his son, was evident the Portuguese obsessive desire to regain the peak as a player.

Ronaldo, who renovated this year with Real Madrid, became the highest paid player of the world, and said that “he always works with the goal of improving.”

Lionel Messi praised the work of Portuguese player, mentioning that his injuries have nothing to do with the final decision, and that Ronaldo worked hard to achieve the Ballon d’Or.
