The Government evaluates the Joaquin Gallegos Lara bonus

Guardians of the disabled people who used the bonus in the wrong way, to buy appliances instead of spending the money in health care, clothing and food, will be changed.

The brigades of the Technical Secretary of disabilities (Setedis) will begin to verify today that caregivers of 2. 052 persons with severe disabilities in order to make sure that the Joaquin Gallegos Lara bonus has the proper use.

The brigades will be formed by doctors, psychologists and social workers, who have received training to raise a social record of poverty rates in which the disabled person could be despite receiving support; their work will begin from 08:30.

This verification will be done because the sampling conducted by the Setedis detected that of the 19. 678 beneficiaries who received  the bonus, 2.052 cases suggest that the money was used  to buy electrical appliances and other equipment, and not to the attention of persons with severe disabilities.

The authorities have decided to temporarily suspend the delivery of the bonus to the suspected cases, while performing the verification, through August 17.

If the brigades confirmed that the money has been invested in health, clothing and food for the persons with disabilities, the delivery of the bonus will be made again, but if irregularities are determined, the person in charge will be separated from their responsibility and  a new guardian will be appointed.
