The Government prunes procedures for productive sectors
Ecuadornews:

Reduce the cumbersome paperwork. With that slogan, the Government announced the elimination of the Registry of Operators (ROP) and the simplification of the Registry of Importers (RIM).
What implications does it have? According to the same Ministry of Production, Foreign Trade and Investment, the ROP demanded time and costs to the national industry. While improving the RIM has the objective of reducing requirements and removing the duplication of controls in public entities.
According to the Ministry of Industries, in the process of merging with the Ministry of Foreign Trade, all products that have some technical regulation should be registered in the ROP, only for statistical purposes.
Another measure, implemented in recent weeks, is the resolution to improve and simplify existing technical regulations at the Ecuadorian Institute for Standardization (INEN). To do this, regulations will not be issued temporarily, but work will be done to refine and refine current ones so that they adapt to international standards that insert us in the world and eliminate obstacles to the productive, industrial and commercial sectors.
In this institution, the Government pointed out, work is also being done to simplify procedures for obtaining the Certificate of Recognition of the Ecuadorian Technical Regulations.
Through his Twitter account, the president of the Ecuadorian Business Committee (CEE), Patricio Alarcón, said the changes are “good news. So we must go debugging all the useless procedures that the previous government generated to stop trade, “said the business leader.
The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) noted in a study that Ecuador has 4,679 procedures, only from the central government.
