The hearing against Pedro Delgado is adjourned

Pedro Delgado
For today was scheduled the hearing against Pedro Delgado, former president of the Central Bank of Ecuador (BCE), at 09h30, at the National Court of Justice. However, the procedure was suspended after the submission of a deferral request by the defense of the former official, as it was reported last night by TC TV Station. So far no new date has been set.
The focus of the hearing was to know what will be the crime that Delgado will be accused of; of ‘ideological falsehood’, according to the complaint filed by Assembly member Enrique Herreria, or “degree forgery”, a crime that had already been prescribed.
A month after the request for indictment of the prosecutor, the National Court attended the request. Meanwhile, Pedro Delgado, cousin of the Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa Delgado, is located in Miami (United States), from December 20. He is currently processing an immigrant visa and a request for asylum.
