At least five ministerial agreements on people with disabilities, labor inspections, internships, among others, have been issued since yesterday.
The Labor Ministry informed there would be no surprise inspections, but a notification will be made 15 days before so that the companies can deliver all the necessary documentation. There will also be targeted inspection procedures to respond to complaints of workers’ rights violations.
Likewise, the participation of persons with disabilities expands. This measure seeks to facilitate the verification of the percentage of inclusion of people with disabilities (4%) in companies.
The regulations on the payment of internships (one-third of the basic salary) and a period of six months is unified. Moreover, pre-professional practices, internships, and community service will be recognized by public and private institutions as experience. (I)
