The Pentagon Makes Cutbacks for US Army Budget
Last Thursday, the Pentagon announced the reduction of the US Army budget in an effort to change their strategic direction. Their goal is to reduce over $487,000 millions during the last decade.
This measure would eliminate several jobs, several ships would also cease their activities along with the removal of air squads. This decision establishes a new scenario for the struggle of USA president Barack Obama and the Congress regarding the budget that the Pentagon would invest in National Security, amid the economic difficulties that assail the country.
The Secretary of Defence, Leon Panetta, stated, “The budget savings will affect 50 Estates and many districts of the country.” This budget would form a new military strategy announced by the Pentagon, their objective is to change the approach on the Middle Eastern and Asian conflicts. (AV)
