The regional journalistic work is recognized

Eighteen recognitions were granted Wednesday night during the solemn session held by the digital media Prensamérica Internacional, in partnership with the National Federation of Journalists of Ecuador (Fenape) and the Journalists Association of Guayas.

Differentprofessionals in the field of communication, both from Ecuador and from othercountries in the region, were honored with the Latin American prize Dr. ZenobioSaldivia 2018.

The event was held in the City Hall, in the Municipal Palace and brought together dozens of social communicators from Ecuador, Peru, Costa Rica, and Puerto Rico.

Carlos Pérez Barriga, director of newspaper EL UNIVERSO, received the prize in the dynasty and journalistic tradition category.

In the journalism and research category, the award went to Hugo Delgado Cepeda.

The communicator Carlos Julio Armanza Ochoa was the winner of two awards in the press, and television categories.

The news presenter María Isabel Crespo de Lebed received the award in the category of image and journalism; while Carlos Fuentes Molina won the sports journalism category.

Amongthe international winners, the Peruvian Walter Cornejo obtained the category ofjuvenile psychology, while the Puerto Rican Hector Figueroa won the distinctionin humanitarian rescue. (I)
