The TRI sub-20 faces Peru today in pursuit of the classification to the second phase

Today, Ecuadorian soccer team (sub-20) will play against Peru, its last chance to qualify to the second round of the Copa Sudamericana. The match will take place in San Juan (Argentina), at 8:15pm.

The “Tri” has two tie games and one defeat in this Championship (tied with Brazil and Uruguay and lost against Venezuela), what keeps it in fourth place in the Group B with two points, one more than Brazil. The leader is Uruguay with 5 points; Peru has 4; Venezuela 3.

Julio Cesar Rosero, head coach of the youth tricolor, is confident about his team and is convinced of qualifying for the World Cup.

“I have 22 players who deserve to play with the national selection. Everyone did their merits and earned the position. I always said I trust them. I’m proud of them, because they are worthy representatives of Ecuador, on the court and off. They are good men, who are finishing  their training on track, “he said.
