Posted On 17 Nov 2011
This morning, Secretary of State of the Holy Headquarters announced that The Vatican is about to take legal action against the Italian textile company Benetton after the brand launched a campaign that shows The Pope Benedict XVI kissing on the mouth with the magnet Sunni al-Azhar, Ahmed el Tayeb.
“We have instructed our lawyers to undertake in Italy and abroad the necessary legal action to prevent the movement of the photomontage in the media made in the context of a Benetton advertising campaign,” said the Vatican in an official note.
Shortly after the Italian textile group decided to remove the image.
