“This government bought the Dhruv helicopters”
The former opposition Assemblyman Fausto Cobo, when commenting on the unilateral termination of the Dhruv helicopters contract, said that the only thing missing is the applause from the public and the Nobel Prize in Economics, at the same time he highlighted the ignorance of this government on national security, those helicopters were not in line with the needs and requirements of national security.
Cobo recalled that in January 2009 he submitted a political trial against those responsible, since at that time he warned that those aircraft did not meet all contract requirements. “Today, time proves us right. The 7 helicopters are out of service, four crashed, three on land because they do not comply with the security standards.”
Also said that he filed a complaint at the Prosecution on December 21, 2009, “a complaint that must be out there somewhere.”
“Now telling the Ecuadorian people that the purchase of the Dhruv helicopters was a good decision with bad luck is irresponsible, national security issues should not be addressed this way.”
