This Sunday the World’s Largest Corviche Will Be Made in Playas
More than 5 meters long and 15 centimeters diameter will measure a corviche to be prepared this Sunday by Humboldt Workers Association, who aims to be the largest in the world and to be recorded in the Guinness Book of Records.
Since last Wednesday the 38 members of this association have been working in the preparation. They have been preparing the green banana dough, peeling shrimps, cleaning squid and fish, for every meter of corviche will be from different species and the hybrids will be there to. (all the marine species in one portion).
For the preparation that will be on the beach in the area called espigóna, since 12:00, they have bought a semi-industrial kitchen. The corviche cooking time is 2 hours and it will shed 1,500 portions to be sold at $ 1.25 each, plus a glass of soda.
30 clusters of green banana, 100 pounds of fish, 120 of shrimp, 50 of squid and 50 of peanuts, and 7 pounds of spices (tomato, onions and others) are going to be used in the preparation.
The event is lead by Magdalena Quiñónez, a 47-years old woman from Esmeraldas, who was spent 25 years preparing corviches in his hometown, Guayaquil and Playas, where she lives since 23 years ago.
