Trusts of BIESS will be investigated by the Comptroller

Carlos Polit
Carlos Polit, the Comptroller General, said yesterday that during the special examination to the Bank of Social Security Institute (BIESS), the audit will investigate the delivery of funds made by the bank since May 11, 2009 at various trusts to channel their investments.
The purpose of these tests is to verify if these expenses had the approval of the relevant authorities of the bank. The Comptroller will consider whether the processes performed to establish these trusts were adjusted to the laws and if told with the respective technical reports.
The Audit Department of Production, Environment and Finance, carried out the work order for the examination. The results of this preliminary investigation are kept under reserve. The auditors reviewed four analyses on BIESS operations: Two of the Superintendency of Banks and Insurance (SBS), one of Authorship Internal Unit (IAU) of BIESS and a private consultant Goldenbond, which was hired by the BIESS last year.
