This Wednesday, September 27, Tourism Day is commemorated. Ecuador has two towns in the ranking of the best rural destinations recommended worldwide to visit.
Whether due to its nature or its culture, its infrastructure or its development, there are two towns in Ecuador that are the ideal destination for tourism : Aguarico ( in the province of Orellana) and Angochagua (Imbabura).
Aguarico and Angochagua are part of the ranking “The Best Towns for Tourism 2022” published by the World Tourism Organization.
The organization commemorates World Tourism Day this Wednesday, September 27, 2023, with a call to rethink this activity.
“There is no time to lose. Let us rethink and reinvent tourism and, together, offer a more sustainable, prosperous and resilient future for all,” said António Guterres, Secretary General of the United Nations.
Along these lines, the UNWTO ranking seeks to recognize rural destinations that “make tourism an engine of development and new employment and income opportunities,” while promoting the values and products of the community.
