Two deaths in political rally of Alianza PAIS
Two killed and five injured was the toll left by a serious incident occurred at 20:10 yesterday at Quininde City, in the province of Esmeraldas, during a political rally to welcome the candidate-president Rafael Correa, who had announced his arrival to the site as part of his tour through the province.
In the midst of a hundred people and 30 meters away from the stage where candidates would rise, there was a fight between two members of the public, of which their political affiliations remain unknown.
One of them left the site and apparently all was quiet, when suddenly returned armed with a knife hidden in his clothes and, for no reason, started to attack people who were around him. The attack resulted in the death of two people and injuries to five others.

The suspect, allegedly named Jose Ulpiano Micolta Aragon, was captured by the same members of Correa’s movement. The police, without confirming the name, revealed that the attacker was arrested.
The injured were taken to the Padre Alberto Buffony Hospital, where effectively was confirmed that two people had died. They are: Aurelio Frixon Vivero Nieves, 28, and Gregoria Virginia Porozo Valencia, 63.
The wounded, who were given asylum in the nursing home, are: Darwin Orlando Angulo Quiñonez, Sonia Aracely Parraga Ibarra, Dolores Argentina Cedeño Moreira and Maria Jose Arce Jimenez.
On his behalf, the president, who finally decided to cancel his tour in Esmeraldas, also narrated what happened in his Twitter account and expressed condolences to the relatives of the victims.
